Why i started APA

Over the past few decades, I've watched the body art industry transform.

What was once considered part of the fringe has become one of the most recognized forms of artistic expression in America. Millions of people proudly wear tattoos, studios have become respected small businesses, and talented artists have built incredible careers doing what they love.

Yet despite that growth, one thing never seemed to evolve at the same pace, the professional support available to the people working in the industry.

Time and time again I watched artist and shop owners face the challenges with very few places to turn.

Whether it was navigation regulations, train g to build a sustainable business, recovering from an unexpected hardship or simply figuring things out alone, the resources that exist in many professions just weren't there.

That's what planted the idea for Artist Protection Alliance.

What i believe

I don't believe the body art industry needs to lose the independence that has always made it unique.

I believe it deserves an organization that helps support that independence.

One that brings professionals together.

One that creates opportunities instead of obstacles.

One that helps people spend more time building careers and less time reinventing systems of their own.

That is what APA is intended to become.

Why Membership Matters

APA isn't built around the idea that a professional organization becomes stronger as its membership grows.

Every new member helps create opportunities to develop additional resources, educational programs, partnerships, and future member benefits that would be difficult for individuals to create on their own.

Where We're Headed

My goal has never been to build a website.

My goal is to help build an organization that continues creating value for the people who have dedicated their lives to this profession.

That means continuing to expand educational resources, professional development, partnerships, voluntary member benefit opportunities, and other initiatives based on what members tell us they need the most.

I don't expect APA to accomplish everything overnight.

I do believe meaningful things are built one step at a time, and that's exactly how I intend to build this organization.
